
As one of Japan's foremost convention cities and the host of countless international conventions, Kobe is now able to offer its unique experties in a special convention service package, "MEET IN KOBE 21st Century".
The cooperation of hotels, PCOs, tourist agencies and other organizations has been enlisted to provide an impressive range of services for both convention organizers and delegates.
Eligibility for "MEET IN KOBE 21st Century"
Conventions are categorized as either type "A" or "B" based on five criteria below.
The services provided vary according to whether only 2 or all 5of these convention criteria are met:
Type "A" conventions must fulfill all 5criteria. Type "B" conventions fulfill only items (1) ~ (2).

- ※In the case of an international conference, it must involve more than two countries, including Japan, and have more than 20 participants.
- ※In the case of an international session that is an integral part of a domestic conference, it must have a total of more than 20 participants, including more than 10 overseas participants.

- Subsidy. (The amount of a subsidy is up to 5% of a convention's total cost.)
※Up to 5,000,000 Japanese yen is subsidized to an international convention categorized "A" type
Up to 2,000,000 Japanese yen is subsidized to those other than "A" type
- A loan is provided for the preparatory fund of a convention.(Interest-free loan: up to 3,000,000 Japanese yen per convention)
- ※Support for the organizer's prior site investigation.
The expenses of a round-trip Shinkansen economy-class ticket between Tokyo and Kobe and one-night stay (including breakfast) at a "MEET IN KOBE 21st Century" supporting hotel, both for one person, will be provided.
- ※A convention's signboard for a main conference room will be provided free of charge.(Maximum size: 720 cm. by 90 cm.)
- Bottles of Kobe wine will be provided free of charge for the convention's reception party.
- Preparation of up to 100 congress bags per a convention.
- Preparation of souvenirs for overseas participants.
- Provision of Printed matters that introduce Kobe.
- Promotional video tapes and slides about Kobe are lent free of charge.
- Information on your convention will be disseminated all over the world through the Association's internet home page, for promotional activities to invite people in the world to your convention.
- Introduction of volunteer workers.
- Support for meetings opened to the public.
- Provision of information on performers for the attraction.
- The half of the fee of a chartered bus for excursion will be subsidized. (up to two buses)
- Active public relations support at conventions held prior to those scheduled for Kobe.(Ex. Postcards featuring Kobe's attractions)
Note: Services with (※) mark are available only to conventions categorized "A" type.

- Accommodations are offered with convention rates.(
Reservations at participating hotels should be made in advance.)
- 2 The fare of the Port-liner connecting Port Island and downtown will be discounted by up to 50%.
(note: organizers need to apply to the ‘Meet in Kobe’ Secretariat office for this in advance)
- The fare of the Rokko-liner connecting Rokko Island and downtown will be discounted by up to 50%
(note: organizers need to apply to the ‘Meet in Kobe’ Secretariat office for this in advance)
※Ref. both #2 and #3: Note, this is limited to a maximum of 3,000 tickets. For more than 3,000 tickets, the reduction is 30%.
- Provision of discount coupons for use at tourist facilities and for shopping.
- Provision of Kobe guide maps.
- A guide for restaurants near the Kobe Convention Center will be provided.
- Setting up of a temporary booth for tourist information.
